Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Schnitzer (ranked 1261 p4p, 1920 weight class) and Antonio Branco (ranked 107 p4p, 143 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Schnitzer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Branco!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Branco has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schnitzer definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As Schnitzer backs off Branco throws a huge counter combo but Schnitzer manages to avoid it all.

Schnitzer tries to work over Branco's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Branco gets control of Schnitzer's arms and successfully pulls guard. Branco will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Horrible takedown attempt by Branco or perhaps it was just good defense by Schnitzer, which made it look bad.

Branco closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Branco lands in his opponent's guard.
Branco throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schnitzer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Branco wants to control from the top but Schnitzer keeps moving.
Schnitzer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Branco is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Schnitzer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Schnitzer has escaped and now he's on top!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Schnitzer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
