Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Midget Mode Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Barry Robertson!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is looking to land body kicks.
Robertson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones misses with a takedown
and Robertson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jones thinking.
Robertson scores with a hook to the body. Jones takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A low kick from Jones is predictable there
and Robertson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Robertson lands a nice hook to Jones's body. Jones takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Robertson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Robertson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Robertson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones.
Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Robertson avoids it really well and circles away.
Robertson tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jones misses with a jab to the body
and Robertson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Midget Mode Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Robertson, as that shot connected.
Robertson misses with a two punch combination.
Robertson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jones is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Robertson throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Jones looks for a takedown but Robertson sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Midget Mode Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Robertson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Jones gets a takedown into half guard.
Robertson is positioning himself well to prevent Jones advancing to mount.
Robertson wants to stand back up but Jones manages to pass into side control.

Jones trying to control the position but Robertson is working away.
Robertson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Robertson is not content to let Jones control the position.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jones is looking to take a break and control but Robertson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Robertson, who protects the arm well.
Robertson can't do much from the bottom here.
Jones prevents Robertson from escaping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jones is trying to get an arm triangle but Robertson is defending well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Robertson keeps working.

Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Robertson appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Robertson swivels and escapes.
Robertson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Robertson.
Jones takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Robertson counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Jones tries to move into range but Robertson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Jones is rocked!
Robertson lands a right hook to the body.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Robertson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jones stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Robertson throws a wild body kick that Jones sees coming a mile off.
Jones shoots in but Robertson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Barry Robertson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Robertson lands a left and a right that send Jones crashing to the mat, dazed. Robertson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Robertson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Jones rather than just go for the knockout.
Robertson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Jones just misses with a punch to the body.
Jones looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Robertson wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Robertson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Robertson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Robertson has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.
Jones throws an elbow that misses. Robertson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jones's guard. Nice move by Robertson!

Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Robertson wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard.
Robertson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jones isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Robertson stacks Jones on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Robertson!

Barry Robertson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Robertson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

I would just about give that final round to Barry Robertson.
I've got Robertson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
