Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Watson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Mosley.

Mosley wants to get back to his feet but Alvarez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mosley tries to close the distance and clinch but Alvarez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mosley moves in looking to clinch but Alvarez pushes him off.
Alvarez throws a counter high kick but Mosley was just alert enough to avoid it.

Mosley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Alvarez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
