Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobbie Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kata Guruma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobbie Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kata Guruma! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jones moves in looking to clinch but Guruma pushes him off. Jones swings for the body but Guruma moves out of range.
Kata Guruma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guruma takes the fight into the clinch. Jones is trying to drag Guruma to the mat but Guruma just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. Jones looking to slow down the pace here. Jones misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Guruma.
Guruma lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Guruma closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Guruma working the ground and pound but Jones is defending the strikes. Jones tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Jones looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Guruma throwing sloppy strikes. Jones covering up well under a barage of strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guruma punches the canvas rather than the man. Jones is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Guruma has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jones looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Guruma has good solid back control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Guruma lands a shot to the head. Jones wants to get back to his feet. Jones covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Jones is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Guruma is working the ground and pound. Can Jones escape? Guruma has good solid back control here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to get back to his feet but Guruma has full control of the position and if anything, Jones has just worked his way into a worse spot. Guruma controlling from the back.
Despite being in the dominant position, Kata Guruma just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Guruma throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bobbie Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Guruma throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones. Jones tries to clinch but Guruma moves away and Guruma counters with a one-two to the body. Jones wants to clinch and Guruma counters with a left and a right that stings Jones. Guruma misses with a two punch combination.
Jones buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Guruma closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard. Guruma postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Guruma stands up and waves to Jones to follow him. Jones is breathing heavily. Jones lands a nice looking body kick. Guruma lands with a nice body punch. Guruma drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Jones taking a bit of punishment here - Guruma scoring with strikes. Guruma has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Guruma scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Guruma jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Guruma fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jones darts in trying to clinch and Guruma counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Guruma stands up and beckons Jones to his feet. Jones tries to clinch but Guruma is having none of it. Guruma avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones closes the distance but Guruma moves to the side and Guruma cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Guruma feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jones is working an open guard so Guruma takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jones misses with a wild combination.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Jones misses the shot to the body. Jones wants to clinch and Guruma counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard. Guruma wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones wants to stand but Guruma is controlling the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Guruma accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Guruma is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Jones is looking to stand up but Guruma isn't so interested in that idea. Jones is working an open guard so Guruma takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Jones looks to clinch and Guruma counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Guruma throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Guruma finishes the takedown easily into guard. Jones wants to stand up but Guruma is controlling him. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Guruma's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Guruma stops Jones from standing up. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jones keeping full guard, as Guruma tries to pass. Guruma stands up and waves to Jones to follow him.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a front kick that sends Guruma stumbling back into the ropes. A leg kick checked by Guruma. Jones misses with a head kick.

Guruma looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jones! Guruma lands with some strikes. Guruma landing strikes, looking to finish! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guruma controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kata Guruma dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Jones wants to stand up but Guruma is controlling him. Guruma decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jones wants to clinch and Guruma counters with a head kick. That will keep Jones thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Guruma fails to land with a series of punches.
Guruma is breathing heavily. Jones wants to clinch but Guruma slips to the side and Guruma counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A head kick misses from Jones. Guruma falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Guruma will be more careful next time no doubt.

Guruma not landing any meaningful shots this time. Guruma has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jones pushes Guruma off looking to stand but Guruma dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Guruma is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Guruma stands up from Jones's guard - Guruma perhaps looking for a knockout. Guruma circles away from the clinch attempt and Guruma counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jones takes one to the chin there. Jones closes the distance but Guruma moves to the side and Guruma counters with a left and a right that stings Jones. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Guruma swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Guruma lands a head kick. Jones smiles back at him and beckons him forward. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Guruma scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Jones is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Guruma decides to stand back up. Guruma steps back and let's Jones get back to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Guruma. Guruma takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Jones closes the distance looking to clinch and Guruma counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Guruma drives through with a takedown into guard. Guruma looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Guruma is proving hard to escape from. Jones gets to his feet. Guruma looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Guruma shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Guruma was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jones blocking the ground and pound. Guruma trying to control but Jones is having none of it. Jones tries to buck Guruma off but he can't manage it. Guruma lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Guruma breaks from Jones's wrist control and lands an elbow. You get the feeling that Jones really doesn't like being in this position too much.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Jones's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Guruma working Jones over with strikes here. Guruma takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kata Guruma has got the better of the ground game so far. Guruma lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Guruma is in the full mount, landing strikes. Guruma tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Guruma's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Guruma connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Guruma lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guruma takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Kata Guruma comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Guruma has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
