The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibbs goes for a double leg but Brewer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Brewer continues to drive forward. Brewer drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gibbs defends it well.
Gibbs drags the fight down to the ground.
Brewer throws a big elbow that misses.
Gibbs is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Brewer rolls with it to try and escape but Gibbs cranks on the arm and Brewer is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Eddie Gibbs! After the fight, Eddie Gibbs was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
