This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Koos Van Asch! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Van Asch closes the distance and clinches. Engine is looking to take this one to the mat. We've been informed that Van Asch has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Van Asch tries to pull guard but Engine holds him up against the cage and eventually Van Asch drops back down to his feet.
Van Asch changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Engine fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Van Asch tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Engine manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Engine drops down looking for a counter takedown but Van Asch sprawls and moves away.

Van Asch might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Engine haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Van Asch controlling from the top position.  That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Asch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Engine swivels though and keeps the full guard. Engine bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Van Asch's guard.  That's four minutes gone in the round. Engine has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Engine keeping moving, preventing Van Asch from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Engine pulls Van Asch in to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Engine is on top in guard.

 That's six minutes gone in the round. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Van Asch can do anything to dispel that myth.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Engine has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Van Asch is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Engine seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Van Asch for as long as he can get away with. Van Asch tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Engine working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Engine controlling the pace for now. Engine continues to stall.
