Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lambeaux Thibodeaux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Mandeville!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Thibodeaux clinches up against the cage.
Thibodeaux will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mandeville up against the cage.
Thibodeaux is pushing Mandeville up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Mandeville wants to get back to striking at distance but Thibodeaux won't allow it.

Mandeville sends Thibodeaux crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mandeville is motioning to the referee to let Thibodeaux up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Mandeville's coach down at Steel Penn Training Den was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mandeville's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looked like Thibodeaux was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mandeville.

And Mandeville tries to counter it with a takedown but Thibodeaux pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Mandeville throws the left hand but Thibodeaux avoids the punch easily.

Thibodeaux fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mandeville, pushing him back against the cage.
Thibodeaux is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Mandeville manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Thibodeaux looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mandeville scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Thibodeaux manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Paul Mandeville showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
