Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabinho Tavares!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Achuth Choudhury!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choudhury shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tavares as he jumps to the side.
Nice takedown defense from Tavares. No joy for Choudhury on that attempt.
Tavares lands a nice shot that snaps Choudhury's head back.
Choudhury shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tavares defends it nicely.
Fabinho Tavares has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Achuth Choudhury.
Tavares avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Choudhury closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tavares circles away.
As Choudhury tries to get set, Tavares tries to push him back and clinch up but Choudhury manages to avoid the attempt.

Tavares lands with an uppercut that bounces Choudhury off the cage and back into range.

Choudhury shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tavares pinned against the cage. Tavares gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Choudhury throws a series of punches but Tavares moves out of range.
Choudhury throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tavares's waist but Tavares gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Choudhury off to one side.
Tavares looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Tavares misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
No joy there for Tavares, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Choudhury with the counter takedown but Tavares avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A jab from Tavares finds it's way through Choudhury's defenses.
Tavares lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Choudhury gets caught flat footed, as Tavares shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Tavares is breathing heavily.

Choudhury can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tavares controls the pace.
Choudhury wants to get back to his feet but Tavares is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Choudhury has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Tavares doesn't defend quickly enough and Choudhury has managed to lock this one up! Can Tavares escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Choudhury on a fantastic submission victory.

Achuth Choudhury was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
