Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heera Ghuruwa (ranked 1984 p4p, 2649 weight class) and Ricardo Lopez (ranked 232 p4p, 278 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Heera Ghuruwa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez moves out of range of the body kick from Ghuruwa.
Lopez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ghuruwa.
Ghuruwa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lopez.

Ghuruwa does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lopez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ghuruwa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lopez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lopez can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lopez is trying to maintain the position but Ghuruwa is very close to passing his half guard.
Ghuruwa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lopez's head.

and Lopez counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Ghuruwa out cold! What a finish! Lopez is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
