The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Everett has managed to clinch.

Everett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cowboy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cowboy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Everett is one step ahead there. Everett controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cowboy is fighting to maintain full guard but Everett has managed to sneak the leg through. Cowboy gets full guard. Cowboy trying to keep a closed guard but Everett is proving a slippery customer.
Everett forces his way into half guard. Everett perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Everett is looking to take a break and control but Cowboy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Everett controlling the pace. Cowboy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Everett is working away from the top position though. Cowboy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cowboy. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cowboy has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Everett has passed into side control.
