Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monni Mantzurin (ranked 1491 p4p, 2874 weight class) and Oliver Hardy (ranked 173 p4p, 306 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Monni Mantzurin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Hardy!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mantzurin dives in for a single leg takedown but Hardy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hardy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Mantzurin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Monni Mantzurin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hardy looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mantzurin has picked Hardy up and slammed him! Hardy can't keep hold of the triangle and Mantzurin manages to pass to side control!
Mantzurin remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hardy takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Hardy is looking to reverse the position.

Mantzurin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hardy's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hardy connects with a nice short shot to Mantzurin's temple.

That was a close second round but I would say that Monni Mantzurin will probably get the nod.

It looks like Monni Mantzurin has been cut.
Hardy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mantzurin.

Oliver Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mantzurin shoots for a double leg takedown but Hardy sprawls well. He's pushed Mantzurin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And Hardy tries to counter it with a takedown but Mantzurin pushes his down on his head and steps out.
No joy there for Mantzurin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mantzurin pushes Hardy off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Oh Mantzurin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mantzurin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hardy as he jumps to the side.
Hardy feints a jab promting Mantzurin to slip. Hardy then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mantzurin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hardy stuffs the takedown.
Mantzurin walks straight into a right hand from Hardy - that's dropped him! Hardy jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mantzurin from any more punishment! Mantzurin complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

A less than humble Oliver Hardy misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
Monni Mantzurin spoke after the fight, saying 'blaaaahhhh.....'.
