PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Beck (ranked 3116 p4p, 3716 weight class) and Cohen Blevins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beck has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Cohen Blevins is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Beck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Cohen Blevins! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beck tries to clinch but Blevins is having none of it. Beck lands with a nice body kick.
Blevins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Blevins is trying to work for a kimura but Beck is defending well.
Blevins trying to mount his opponent but Beck defends it. Beck might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Blevins slows the pace down in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blevins decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Beck.
Blevins closes the distance and clinches. Beck throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Blevins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Beck explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Beck looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Blevins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Blevins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Beck makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! This has been an exciting period of action! Beck tries to clinch but Blevins is having none of it. Beck throws a nice inside leg kick. Beck misses with a kick to the body.
Blevins darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blevins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Beck was covering up waiting for the punch and Blevins finishes the takedown easily into guard. Blevins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Beck is keeping the position for now. Blevins seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Blevins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beck swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Blevins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blevins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Beck looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Blevins is defending well. Beck quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Blevins has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Beck celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
