Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Temmu Pukki (ranked 1405 p4p, 1962 weight class) and Isiah Monroe (ranked 171 p4p, 223 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Temmu Pukki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isiah Monroe!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pukki swings for the body but Monroe moves out of range.
Monroe looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Monroe counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Pukki works over Monroe's head and body with a nice combination.
Pukki fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Monroe to the ground. Pukki is now in Monroe's guard.

Pukki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Monroe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pukki looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Pukki shoots in looking for a takedown. Monroe tries to sprawl out of it but Pukki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Monroe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Monroe felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well Pukki has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
