Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John The Don! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gibki Vlad! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Ackerman and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vlad shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. The Don defends it nicely. John The Don seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vlad takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The Don displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vlad. Vlad looks for a takedown but The Don sprawls well. John The Don has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gibki Vlad. The Don fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vlad sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Vlad is pressing down on The Don's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Vlad is adopting a defensive guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vlad is on top in guard.
Vlad controlling from the top position. Vlad drops back looking for a leg! The Don is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and The Don manages to kick Vlad off! Vlad jumps back into The Don's guard. Vlad trying to control the position from guard on top but The Don is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Don tries to strike from the bottom.
Vlad drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vlad jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Vlad trying to control but The Don is working from the bottom. Vlad looking to pass the guard. The Don is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vlad is controlling him.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Vlad takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Vlad looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick from The Don misses. The Don throws a chopping leg kick but Vlad manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Vlad with a lazy takedown attempt and The Don counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. The Don wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The Don clinches up against the ropes. The Don is pressed up against the ropes. Vlad has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The Don down to the mat. The Don avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. The Don bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The Don scores with a couple of short elbows. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The Don wants to stand but Vlad has his arm trapped. Vlad wants to control but The Don postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vlad is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Vlad can't do much from the bottom here. Vlad is looking for a sweep. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vlad sneaks back into half guard. The Don prevents Vlad from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John The Don dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The Don shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vlad's guard. The Don knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vlad on the ground. Vlad lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for The Don! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Vlad has isolated one of The Don's arms. The Don looking to fight him off but Vlad twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
