Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frederick Crane (ranked 25594 p4p, 25604 weight class) and Alex Burns (ranked 451 p4p, 418 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Frederick Crane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Burns!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns shoots for a takedown but Crane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Crane appears to be looking for a big counter.
Crane attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Crane throws a leg kick
and Burns counters with a two punch combo.
Crane throws a head kick that misses.

Burns gets a clinch.

Burns pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Burns clinches up with Crane and pushes him back against the cage.
Burns has Crane pressed against the cage, preventing Crane from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Burns breaks from the clinch.
Burns tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Crane swivels and escapes.
We've been told by Crane's head coaches at Deathsquad that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Burns pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Burns misses with an attempted mid kick.
Crane tries to counter with a takedown but Burns is quick to defend against it.
Burns stuffs the takedown.
A head kick from Crane lands but Burns takes it in his stride.

It looks like Alex Burns has been cut.

Burns shoots for a double leg takedown but Crane sprawls well. He's pushed Burns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Frederick Crane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Burns.
Burns takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Crane goes for a double leg but Burns avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Burns continues to drive forward.

Burns jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Crane walks away with a smile on his face. Burns gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Crane is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crane looks like he's trying to stand up.
Burns is pressing down on Crane's thigh, looking to free his foot. Crane is holding on for now.
Crane tries to get to full guard but Burns has control of the leg.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Burns seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Crane does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Burns throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Burns thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Crane tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Burns manages to move to mount!
Burns misses with a head shot.
Burns lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Crane tries to reverse the position but Burns maintains control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Crane is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A little jabbing left from Burns on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Crane shoots for a takedown but Burns saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alex Burns seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Crane throws a combination that misses
and Burns counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Crane takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Crane counters with a head kick.
Burns's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Burns duly obliges.
Crane shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Burns defends it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Crane, pushing him back against the cage.

Burns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Crane thows a body kick. Burns tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Burns dives in and grabs Crane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Crane pushes down on Burns's head and hops out.
Frederick Crane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Burns.

and Crane counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Crane tries to score a power double leg takedown but Burns sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Crane somewhat.

Crane throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Burns uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Crane.

Horrible takedown attempt by Burns or perhaps it was just good defense by Crane, which made it look bad.

Burns tries to land a front kick but Crane steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Burns pivots, looking for a leg kick but Crane is out of range and Burns settles back down.
Burns throws a body punch but Crane moves out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Crane tries for a takedown but Burns sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Crane dips to his left and cracks Burns with an uppercut!
Crane misses with a double jab.
Crane throws a push kick but Burns slaps the foot to one side.
Burns shoots in looking for a takedown. Crane tries to sprawl out of it but Burns keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Crane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Crane is trying hard to land a takedown here. Burns sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Burns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Crane moves away.
