Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Jimenez (ranked 4417 p4p, 3389 weight class) and Average Stan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Jimenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Average Stan!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jimenez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Stan gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jimenez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Stan's elbow.
Stan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jimenez uses from the top position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jimenez wants to stand and escape but instead Stan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Stan is pushing down on Jimenez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jimenez is fighting to maintain full guard but Stan has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jimenez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stan on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Stan is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Stan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Stan is taking a breather. Jimenez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jimenez is kicking away at Stan from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Stan grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Jimenez trying to push Stan off... Jimenez taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Average Stan!
Our winner, Average Stan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
