Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Cervoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joey Cervoni! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Jones! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Cervoni sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones. Jones looks to land a combination but Cervoni avoids it well. Jones scores a takedown into full mount! Cervoni can't escape the position.
Cervoni sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jones wants to control but Cervoni is keeping him busy. Jones is nestled in close to Cervoni, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jones wants to take a breather but Cervoni is having none of it. Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Jones blocks the strikes from Cervoni.
Cervoni really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cervoni keeps working. Cervoni flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice strikes from Jones there. Jones is looking for a kimura here.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cervoni looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cervoni defends it well. Cervoni is looking to improve his position.

Jones throwing strikes from guard but Cervoni blocks nicely. Cervoni trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Jones trying to control but Cervoni is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cervoni lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Jones tries for a takedown but Cervoni sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Joey Cervoni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Jones. Jones looks gassed! Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Left hook, right uppercut from Cervoni. Cervoni closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cervoni working away. Cervoni is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cervoni lands an elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Cervoni scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK. Cervoni decides to take the fight back to the feet. Jones drives through with a takedown into guard. Cervoni tries to strike from the bottom.
Cervoni is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Cervoni is retaining full guard. Jones wants to control from the top but Cervoni keeps moving. Jones has gone for a leg lock! Cervoni slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones keeping moving, preventing Cervoni from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Joey Cervoni will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown so Cervoni counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Jones keeping moving, preventing Cervoni from controlling successfully. Cervoni works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard. Cervoni wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cervoni is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows. Cervoni wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cervoni doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cervoni manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jones is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jones is looking for a triangle but Cervoni pushes his legs off easily.
Cervoni stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cervoni works a leg free and moves into half guard. Cervoni drops an elbow to the side of Jones's head. Jones wants to get back to full guard. Jones has hold of Cervoni's hands but Cervoni slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Cervoni controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to control but Cervoni is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cervoni kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Joey Cervoni overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jones has a hand on Cervoni's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Cervoni takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Jones prevents any damage by holding on tight. Cervoni lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on? Jones is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cervoni trying to control but Jones is having none of it. Cervoni working the ground and pound effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to control but Cervoni is having none of it. Cervoni landing strikes from the mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cervoni landing strikes, looking to finish! Jones taking shots to the head. Jones wants to control but Cervoni is having none of it. Cervoni looking to finish Jones with some ground and pound. This is bad for Jones! Jones is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cervoni is in the full mount, landing strikes. Jones swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Jones wants to hold on but Cervoni pushes him away. Cervoni scoring with strikes but Jones is staying in there. This has been an exciting period of action! Cervoni wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely. Cervoni lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on? Jones in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Jones is trying to escape the mount.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cervoni trying to control but Jones is having none of it. Cervoni lands with some strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joey Cervoni dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Cervoni changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jones can't do much from the bottom here. Jones is trying to improve his position. Cervoni wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. Jones tries to escape but Cervoni is in control. Jones is looking for a sweep. Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cervoni lands an elbow. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cervoni decides to take the fight back to the feet. Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown and Cervoni counters with a lovely shot to the body. Cervoni drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cervoni will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones is trying to control Cervoni's posture but Cervoni avoids it. Cervoni is trying to get an arm triangle but Jones is defending well. Cervoni grinds an elbow into Jones's temple.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cervoni landing a few strikes. Cervoni wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. Cervoni wants to stand but Jones has his arm trapped. Cervoni is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones struggling a bit here. The strikes coming from Cervoni are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cervoni wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cervoni shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cervoni is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jones takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Jones is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Cervoni! Jones breaks from Cervoni's wrist control and lands an elbow. Jones is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cervoni can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jones moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cervoni has worked his arm free - good work by Cervoni!
Cervoni sneaks back into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cervoni is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cervoni with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Jones lands with a punch from half guard. Jones looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Cervoni makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cervoni. Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jones connects with a couple of short punches. Cervoni is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones throws a big right hand that misses. Jimmy Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Joey Cervoni is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cervoni controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Joey Cervoni showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cervoni has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
