And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Wulfgang Bleak! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
Hughes throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bleak tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hughes is in Bleak's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Hughes (2) vs (0) Bleak Hughes trying to control but Bleak is working from the bottom. Hughes looking to pass the guard. Hughes trying to control but Bleak is working from the bottom. Bleak has control of Hughes's left arm, preventing Hughes from doing any damage.
Hughes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bleak swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bleak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hughes is one step ahead there.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes wants to control from the top but Bleak keeps moving. Hughes looking to pass the guard. Bleak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bleak is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hughes frees his head nicely. Oh but Bleak has switched to an armbar! Hughes is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
