Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Colby (ranked 2244 p4p, 2621 weight class) and Shaka Barnes (ranked 188 p4p, 216 weight class). Shaka Barnes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Colby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shaka Barnes! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnes scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Colby closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Colby lands in his opponent's guard. Colby with a nice head shot there. Colby chips away with some ground and pound. Colby engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barnes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Colby can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Colby lands a couple of decent looking shots. Colby is working Barnes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Barnes being controlled here, momentarily. Colby lands a couple of elbows.
 Barnes is rocked!
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Barnes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Colby postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Barnes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Colby, into his guard.
 Barnes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Colby holds on and takes a little breather.
Colby has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Barnes has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Colby is trying to trip Barnes. He has hold of a leg but Barnes is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Colby persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Colby might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Colby working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Barnes's head. Colby not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Colby's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Colby is working Barnes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Colby is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Colby scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Barnes is still in real trouble! Can Colby finish him? Colby scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Colby is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Colby postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Barnes covers up, he's hurt! Colby keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Colby and the ref steps in to end the fight! Colby can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
