The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Sousa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hestler, who protects the arm well.
Sousa is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hestler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hestler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sousa wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sousa working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hestler manages to get back to half guard.

Hestler is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sousa pulls his head out easily. Hestler controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Hestler has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sousa is working away from the top position though. Hestler is staying active underneath Sousa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
