Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zaq Wu Sang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Runcio Maloca!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wu Sang is trying hard to land a takedown here. Maloca sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wu Sang misses with a wild combination.
Wu Sang fails with a takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Maloca as Wu Sang shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zaq Wu Sang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maloca leaves Wu Sang with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wu Sang shoots in and drives through. Maloca sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maloca uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wu Sang.

Maloca is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wu Sang wants to pass the guard but Maloca is keeping the position.

Maloca escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wu Sang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wu Sang wants to control from the top but Maloca keeps moving.
Wu Sang pushing down on Maloca's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Maloca is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wu Sang is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Maloca!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Maloca tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wu Sang working the ground and pound effectively.
Maloca is working to get back to half guard.
Maloca is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Wu Sang has hold of Maloca's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Maloca manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wu Sang sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Maloca is in all sorts of trouble here.
Wu Sang punishing his opponent with strikes.
Maloca is looking to improve his position but Wu Sang isn't that keen on the idea.

Wu Sang looking to secure an arm triangle but Maloca defends it well.
Maloca slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wu Sang has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Wu Sang can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maloca is looking to escape.

Wu Sang has control of Maloca's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Maloca regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Maloca tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Maloca sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zaq Wu Sang dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Wu Sang fails with the takedown

so Maloca counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Maloca tries to free his leg and advance position but Wu Sang is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maloca is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wu Sang is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wu Sang has escaped and now he's on top!

Maloca wants to sweep but no luck.

Maloca is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Maloca keeping moving, preventing Wu Sang from controlling successfully.

Maloca being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maloca looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wu Sang passes into side control.
Maloca wants to control but Wu Sang postures up.
Wu Sang is looking to take a break and control but Maloca is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Maloca's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wu Sang is working Maloca over with some ground and pound from side control.

Wu Sang is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Maloca is trying to escape and Wu Sang transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Maloca is forced to tap! Nice work there by Wu Sang! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Zaq Wu Sang!
