Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gunnar Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marvin Hagler!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hagler slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hagler misses with a hook
and Murphy counters with a slapping leg kick.
Hagler throws a lazy head kick
and Hagler takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hagler throws an off balance right hand
and Murphy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hagler bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hagler cracks Murphy with a right hand to the side of the head.
Hagler misses with a lunging right hand
and Murphy counters with a big uppercut that drops Hagler face first to the mat! Will he beat the count?! He's struggled up to his knees on 7 but it doesn't look like he's going to make it... he's been counted out! This fight is all over!
