And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 28 wins and 20 losses; Odaishah Yasalmibaal! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Gracias closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Yasalmibaal did well to prevent Gracias getting side control. Yasalmibaal felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Gracias wants to pass the guard but Yasalmibaal is defending well. Yasalmibaal is looking to improve his position.

Gracias takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Gracias's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Yasalmibaal bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
