Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thayson Rodrigues (ranked 4016 p4p, 4043 weight class) and Carlos Eduardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Eduardo!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues closes the distance and pushes Eduardo back into the cage.
Rodrigues throws a knee to the head but misses.
Eduardo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rodrigues pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rodrigues really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rodrigues wants to clinch.
Eduardo swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Rodrigues shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eduardo is staying active underneath Rodrigues, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodrigues seems to be working for a kimura but Eduardo defends the submission attempt.
Eduardo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rodrigues pulls his head out easily.
Rodrigues is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Eduardo sees it coming and defends easily.
Rodrigues is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Eduardo reverses the position - he's now on top in Rodrigues's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eduardo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
It looks like Thayson Rodrigues has been cut.

Rodrigues looking for a sweep. Not yet Rodrigues, not yet.
Rodrigues is looking to stand back up but Eduardo counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rodrigues.
Rodrigues is trying to control but Eduardo manages to pass to mount!

Rodrigues regains half guard.
Eduardo prevents Rodrigues from improving his position.

Rodrigues is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Eduardo jumps into side control!
Eduardo is putting a hurting on Rodrigues here, landing some big shots from side control.

Rodrigues is working to avoid the ground and pound but Eduardo connects with a decent elbow.
Rodrigues is rocked!
Rodrigues is breathing heavily.
Rodrigues keeps Eduardo under control for a moment.
Rodrigues is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Oh Rodrigues is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Eduardo is chipping away with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodrigues tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Eduardo easily slips into full mount!
Rodrigues seems to have got his legs back now.
Eduardo looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Rodrigues covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
