Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rico Salvacion (ranked 23303 p4p, 23193 weight class) and Kugus Amiga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rico Salvacion is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 63 - 77 - 7, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 71 - 65 - 8, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kugus Amiga!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Amiga tries to land a body kick
and Salvacion counters with a body kick that stops Amiga in his tracks momentarily.

Salvacion changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Amiga looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A lull in the action here.
You can see the frustration on Amiga's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Amiga wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
You can see the frustration on Amiga's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Amiga fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Amiga shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Salvacion shoots in looking for a takedown but Amiga manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Salvacion's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Salvacion shoots in but no luck this time.
Salvacion shoots in but Amiga avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Amiga is trying to counter with his kicks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rico Salvacion. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Salvacion dives in for a single leg takedown but Amiga sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Salvacion tightens his grip and picks Amiga up, before dumping him to the ground. Amiga manages to land in guard.
Amiga is pulling down on Salvacion's head to control his posture.

Salvacion controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Amiga utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Amiga is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Amiga thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Salvacion's head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Amiga fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Salvacion, pushing him back against the cage.
Amiga is looking to take this one to the mat.

Salvacion has Amiga pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Amiga manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Salvacion is pulling down on Amiga's head to control his posture.
Amiga not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Amiga is continuing to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Salvacion tries to score a power double leg takedown but Amiga sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Salvacion somewhat.

It appears Salvacion was looking to counter with a kick there.

Amiga replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Salvacion blocks it well.

Amiga closes the distance and clinches up with Salvacion, looking for a takedown. Amiga pushes Salvacion against the cage but Salvacion circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kugus Amiga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

No luck for Amiga with that takedown attempt.

Amiga shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Amiga showed some decent athleticism there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Salvacion holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Salvacion has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Amiga is working away from the top position though.
Amiga keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Salvacion desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Amiga is taking a breather. Salvacion says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Salvacion shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Amiga's guard.
Amiga is looking to stand back up but Salvacion counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Amiga.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Salvacion wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amiga keeps working.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Salvacion has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Salvacion passes into side control, despite Amiga's attempt to control the position.

Rico Salvacion showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Salvacion has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
