Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Rocha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gopnik Skwat!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocha misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rocha takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Jorge Rocha has been cut.
Skwat lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Rocha fires out a quick counter leg kick but Skwat just manages to avoid it.
We've been hearing reports that Rocha has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Rocha thows a body kick. Skwat tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Skwat tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rocha was well out of range. Poor timing from Skwat.

Skwat throws a wild body kick that Rocha sees coming a mile off.

Skwat throws a shot from downtown. Rocha moves away and avoids it.
Rocha throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Skwat ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Gopnik Skwat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skwat swings for the body but Rocha moves out of range.

Skwat just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromRocha.

Skwat throws a big shot that misses.
Rocha is looking to counter with head kicks.

Skwat looks to land a left hand but Rocha moved out of range nicely.

and Rocha counters with a nice low kick that buckles Skwat's knee momentarily.
Skwat throws a sloppy head kick and Rocha moves out of range easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rocha fires out a quick counter leg kick but Skwat just manages to avoid it.

Skwat gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Skwat is looking for a triangle but Rocha pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rocha trying to control but Skwat is working from the bottom.
Rocha forces his way into half guard.

Rocha is trying a forearm choke� I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Rocha is working for a submission of some sort.

Rocha is working for a kimura but Skwat is defending it quite comfortably.
Rocha stalling away here and it's allowed Skwat to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Skwat can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rocha controls the pace.

Rocha drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Skwat dives on top into guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Skwat cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Rocha counters with a slapping leg kick.
Skwat misses with a lunging right hand
and Rocha counters with a nice kick to the body.
Skwat scores with a nice strike.
Rocha blocks a leg kick.
Skwat throws a lazy uppercut

and Rocha moves into the clinch.
Rocha landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Skwat misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rocha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Skwat can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Skwat is trying to control the action in half guard but Rocha is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rocha is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Skwat pulls his head out easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rocha works his way to full guard. Good work.
Skwat wants to control from the top but Rocha keeps moving.

Rocha isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Skwat stacks Rocha on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Skwat!

Rocha gets full guard.
Skwat stays in close to Rocha's body and controls the position.

Rocha is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Skwat rolls with it to try and escape but Rocha cranks on the arm and Skwat is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

A less than humble Jorge Rocha misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
