Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Niko Rangel (ranked 25710 p4p, 4497 weight class) and Vladimir Zlotov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Niko Rangel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Niko Rangel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Zlotov! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Francis DeMontford and Chris Dean.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rangel moves out of range as Zlotov throws a body kick.
Rangel shoots for a double leg takedown but Zlotov sprawls well. He's pushed Rangel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rangel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rangel seems to be working for a kimura but Zlotov defends the submission attempt. Zlotov tries to get to full guard but Rangel has control of the leg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rangel seems to be looking for submissions.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Zlotov is trying is best to control the position here.
Rangel seems to be working for a kimura but Zlotov defends the submission attempt. Zlotov is concentrating on defense, preventing Rangel from advancing position. Zlotov wants to get back to full guard. Zlotov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rangel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Zlotov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rangel is working away from the top position though.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Zlotov wants to improve his position but Rangel is controlling well.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Zlotov keeping control of the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zlotov can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rangel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zlotov defends it well. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Zlotov pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Zlotov throws a nice inside leg kick. Rangel shoots for a double leg takedown but Zlotov sprawls well. He's pushed Rangel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rangel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Niko Rangel dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Zlotov rushes Rangel and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Zlotov lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
 It looks like Niko Rangel has been cut. Zlotov unloads a knee to the mid-section. Zlotov scores with a shot to the side of Rangel's head. A short right from Zlotov. Nice elbow from Zlotov. Zlotov scores a nice knee to the body.

 Niko Rangel's cut is getting worse. Zlotov with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Zlotov clinches up with Rangel and pushes him back against the cage. Zlotov lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Knees in the clinch landing for Zlotov.
Zlotov pushes Rangel back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Zlotov is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Zlotov scores with a knee to the head.
 Niko Rangel's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Zlotov lands an elbow inside that Rangel shrugs off. Zlotov landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Zlotov breaks the clinch.
Zlotov darts in and clinches Rangel up against the cage.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Zlotov is stalling here.

 Jeez, Niko Rangel's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Zlotov lands a damaging elbow. Zlotov crunches a lovely knee into Rangel's ribcage. We've been informed that Zlotov has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Zlotov lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Niko Rangel's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Vladimir Zlotov!
