Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Thomas Babcock (ranked 451 p4p, 408 weight class) and Guy Le Franc (ranked 56 p4p, 50 weight class). Babcock comes to the cage accompanied by 70. The crowd seem to be enjoying Le Franc's choice of entrance music: [I Can't Get No] Satisfaction. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Guy Le Franc was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 30 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesse Thomas Babcock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 26 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Guy Le Franc! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Steven Brown.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babcock tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Le Franc swivels and escapes. Le Franc takes a shot right to the bread basket. Le Franc has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Babcock ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Babcock takes a swing at Le Franc's ribcage but misses. Le Franc looks like he wants to counter punch here. Babcock lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Le Franc at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babcock displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Le Franc throws out the jab. Babcock appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Le Franc throws a series of punches but Babcock avoids them all with ease. Le Franc fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Babcock manages to avoid it.

and Le Franc counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
 It looks like Jesse Thomas Babcock has been cut. Babcock looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Le Franc lands a right hook to the body.
Le Franc pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Babcock fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Le Franc manages to avoid it. Guy Le Franc is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Le Franc swings for the body but Babcock moves out of range.

and Babcock counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Babcock drops an elbow to the side of Le Franc's head. Babcock wants to pass the guard but Le Franc is defending well. Le Franc is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Babcock scores with a couple of nice shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Le Franc looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Babcock tries to pass to full mount but Le Franc defends it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Le Franc trying to control but Babcock postures up.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Babcock sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Le Franc defending well though. Babcock takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Le Franc keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Babcock is keen to just control but Le Franc is a slippery customer. Babcock is nestled in close to Le Franc, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Babcock scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Babcock tries to pass to full mount but Le Franc defends it. Babcock winds up and cracks Le Franc with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Babcock throwing shots but Le Franc is blocking nicely. Babcock is looking to pass Le Franc's guard but actually Le Franc recovers to full guard. Babcock slips nicely into half guard. Babcock lands strikes from half guard. Babcock moves nicely into side control. Le Franc is trying to control Babcock's posture but Babcock avoids it. Le Franc on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Le Franc takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Babcock darts in looking for a takedown but Le Franc gets double underhooks and turns Babcock into the cage. Le Franc swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Le Franc lands a right hand. Babcock is looking to take this one to the mat. Babcock blocks an uppercut.

Le Franc being controlled here momentarily. Le Franc stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Babcock swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babcock looking to hit a scissor sweep but Le Franc is one step ahead there. Babcock is working hard here to advance position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Babcock has his hands on Le Franc's head, controlling the position. Le Franc controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Le Franc trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Babcock takes a swing at Le Franc's ribcage but misses. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Le Franc! But no joy. Jesse Thomas Babcock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Le Franc defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Babcock. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse Thomas Babcock. That's going to take a lot out of him. Le Franc stuffs the takedown. Babcock moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromLe Franc. Babcock throws a series of punches but Le Franc avoids them all with ease. A nice side step and Le Franc releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Babcock is defended easily by Le Franc. A countering left hand to the body from Le Franc misses. Babcock swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Babcock is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Le Franc can do to turn this around?

and Babcock counters with a nice double leg into side control. Le Franc won't be happy with that. Babcock throwing strikes but Le Franc manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Le Franc is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Babcock is trying to get back to half guard. Le Franc trying to control the position but Babcock is working away. Babcock prevents Le Franc from moving into mount.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Babcock wants to control but Le Franc postures up. Jesse Thomas Babcock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Babcock is trying to work for a sweep but Le Franc has mounted him! Babcock is looking to improve his position but Le Franc isn't that keen on the idea. Babcock wants to hold on but Le Franc pushes him away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Babcock is trying to escape the mount.

A close second round but Guy Le Franc will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Jesse Thomas Babcock's cut. That's time! Babcock's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Le Franc parries the strikes from Babcock easily there. Babcock is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Le Franc to escape.
Le Franc seems to have recovered his senses. Check out the look on Babcock's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Le Franc takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Babcock working the ground and pound. Babcock wants to take a breather but Le Franc manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Babcock.
