Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fabinho Tavares (ranked 3356 p4p, 4147 weight class) and Cole Mclean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole Mclean has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabinho Tavares! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Mclean! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mclean is looking to land body kicks. Tavares lands a really nice looking cross but Mclean seems unphased.

and Tavares counters with a crisp one two that drops Mclean! Tavares thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Mclean to his feet! Mclean is in big trouble!

Mclean drives through with a takedown into Tavares's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Mclean is still in real trouble! Can Tavares finish him? Mclean controlling from the top position. Mclean seems to have recovered his senses. Tavares keeping full guard, as Mclean tries to pass. Mclean throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Mclean stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Tavares to get to his feet. Mclean shoots in looking for a takedown. Tavares tries to sprawl out of it but Mclean keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tavares manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tavares lands a head kick. Mclean smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Tavares uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mclean has time to react. Tavares lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tavares. Tavares scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Tavares throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mclean stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mclean looking to score a takedown here. Tavares is defending well but Mclean drives through and ends up in Tavares's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tavares has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mclean is working away from the top position though. Tavares wants to control the action here but instead Mclean manages to pass to full mount! Tavares is wriggling around trying to escape.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Mclean unloads with some shots from mount but Tavares bucks and avoids them well.

Mclean fails to take his opponent's back. Mclean sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Mclean is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Tavares is surviving well by controlling Mclean's body position as best he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mclean throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Mclean has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mclean looking to finish Tavares with some ground and pound. This is bad for Tavares!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Mclean throws some wild stikes that Tavares manages to avoid easily.
Tavares tries to hold on but Mclean postures up. Mclean controlling his opponent.
Mclean is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Tavares is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Tavares flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Mclean anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Tavares and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Mclean slips an arm under Tavares chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Mclean has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Mclean is squeezing on Tavares like an anaconda would it's prey. Tavares fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
