Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Allen Estes (ranked 2380 p4p, 3206 weight class) and Joo Sang Yoo (ranked 197 p4p, 257 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Going The Distance


Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Allen Estes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joo Sang Yoo!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Estes closes the distance and pushes Yoo back into the cage.
Estes lands an elbow inside.
Estes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Yoo's defenses.
Yoo is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Estes is defending well.
Yoo is looking to break free of the clinch but Estes has double underhooks.
Yoo jumps guard but Estes turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Estes lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Yoo dodges an elbow strike from Estes.
Yoo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Nice elbow from Estes.
Estes presses Yoo against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Estes gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Yoo regains guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Estes distracts Yoo with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Estes lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Estes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yoo on the ground.
Yoo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Estes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Yoo is working an open guard so Estes takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Estes darts in and clinches Yoo up against the cage.
Estes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Yoo's defenses.
Yoo wants to get back to striking at distance but Estes won't allow it.
Yoo is pressed up against the cage. Estes has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yoo down to the mat. Yoo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Estes jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yoo shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Estes eats them both and turns towards Yoo to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Allen Estes has been cut.
Allen Estes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice leg kick from Estes, right into the meat of the thigh.
Estes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yoo's head backwards.

Estes clinches.

Estes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Estes moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Estes.
Estes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yoo blocks the elbow strike.
Nice elbow from Estes.
Estes lands an elbow that stopped Yoo in his tracks for a moment.
A frustrated look appears on Yoo's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Yoo tries to score a body lock takedown but Estes shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Allen Estes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joo Sang Yoo.

Estes gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Estes looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Yoo gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yoo throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Estes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Estes lands a couple of digs.
Estes working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Yoo is rocked!
Estes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Estes scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Yoo is still in real trouble! Can Estes finish him?
Estes postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Yoo covers up, he's hurt! Estes keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Estes and the ref steps in to end the fight! Estes can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Allen Estes!
Allen Estes decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
