Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Watson (ranked 4024 p4p, 4128 weight class) and Cipriano Echeverria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Watson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cipriano Echeverria! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Echeverria. Echeverria throws a series of punches but Watson avoids them all with ease. Watson fails with a takedown attempt. Echeverria scores with a nice right hand.
Watson misses with a takedown attempt and Watson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Echeverria digs a good body shot into Watson's ribs. Echeverria rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Watson counters with a three punch combo that has Echeverria backing up. Echeverria nods at Watson to acknowledge the strikes. Watson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Echeverria misses with a body shot.

Watson clinches up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Watson tries to score a body lock takedown but Echeverria shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Watson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Watson trying to stall but Echeverria improves his position.

Watson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Echeverria to the mat! Echeverria manages to get full guard. Echeverria has momentary wrist control but Watson slips an elbow through the middle. Watson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Watson is in close to Echeverria's body, working some short punches and elbows. Watson postures up in Echeverria's guard and throws a big left but Echeverria blocks it. Watson stops Echeverria from standing up. Watson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Echeverria has momentary wrist control but Watson slips an elbow through the middle.
Watson stands up and waves to Echeverria to follow him. Echeverria stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Echeverria wants it to stay on the feet. Echeverria loads up on a big right hand but Watson slips the punch.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Echeverria swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Echeverria just leaning against Watson, taking a breather. Watson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Echeverria gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Echeverria is defending well against a takedown attempt. Echeverria will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Watson up against the cage. Watson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

 It looks like Mike Watson has been cut. Watson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Echeverria's waist but Echeverria gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Watson off to one side. Watson takes one on the button. Echeverria throws a left and a right that both miss
and Watson counters with a straight right hand. Watson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Echeverria fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Watson manages to avoid it.
Watson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Echeverria lands a right hand.

Echeverria has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Watson is proving hard to escape from.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Watson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Echeverria would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Watson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Watson has a closed guard, preventing Echeverria from standing up. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Watson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Cipriano Echeverria will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mike Watson's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Horrible takedown attempt by Watson or perhaps it was just good defense by Echeverria, which made it look bad. Echeverria tries to clinch up. Echeverria moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Watson is looking to land body kicks. Watson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Echeverria throws a hook but Watson avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Echeverria, as that shot connected.

Watson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Echeverria has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Echeverria changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Echeverria throws a looping overhand right but Watson ducks down to avoid it. Watson fails with the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Echeverria scores with a punch to the head. Echeverria tries to clinch up. Watson tries to clinch there but Echeverria circles away.
Watson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Watson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Watson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Echeverria some visible discomfort.
Watson lands a nice forearm strike. Watson lands a few punches from side control. Check out the look on Watson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Echeverria is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Watson is controlling him well. Echeverria takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

 Echeverria is rocked! Echeverria really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Watson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Watson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Echeverria is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Watson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Watson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Echeverria to see if he's OK. Echeverria is still in real trouble! Can Watson finish him? Watson scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Echeverria is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Watson can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
