This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 8 losses; Johnny Domino! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 47 wins and 41 losses; Uncle Abner! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Abner moves into the clinch.
Abner manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Domino tries to free his leg and advance position but Abner is retaining full guard. Abner pulls Domino in close to prevent any damage.
Abner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Domino can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Domino trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Domino doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Domino manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Abner is trying to control the position but Domino postures up.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Abner looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Abner keeping moving, preventing Domino from controlling successfully. Abner looking for a sweep. Not yet Abner, not yet. Domino trying to control the position from guard on top but Abner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Abner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Domino defends well.

Abner is looking for a triangle but Domino pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Domino stands and throws Abner's legs to the side, diving into side control. Abner tries to buck Domino off but Domino is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Abner is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Abner felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Domino tries to advance to mount but can't. Abner manages to get back to half guard. Abner tries to get to full guard but Domino has control of the leg. Domino seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Abner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Domino is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Abner sees it coming and defends easily. Abner is looking to improve his position.
Abner preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Domino seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Abner tries to get to full guard but Domino has control of the leg.

Abner is pulling down on Domino's head to control his posture. Abner wants to sweep here but Domino controlling him for the moment. Abner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
 That's six minutes gone in the round. Abner has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Abner is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Domino wants to control from the top but Abner keeps moving. Abner is trying to keep Domino in close.
 That's seven minutes gone in the round. Domino engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Domino wants to control from the top but Abner keeps moving. Abner looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Let's hope that Abner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
 That's ten minutes gone in the round. Abner prevents Domino from improving his position. Abner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Domino knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Abner wants to control but Domino is keeping him busy. Well, if Abner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.

 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Domino tries to roll over but Abner keeps him under control.
Abner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Domino is just riding it out for now. Abner eventually gives up the hold. Abner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Domino is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Abner pulls his head out easily. Abner trying to control from half guard but Domino is working away.
 That's twelve minutes gone in the round.
Domino actively working from the bottom here. Abner controlling the action here. Abner wants to take a breather but Domino is having none of it.

Abner seems to be working for a kimura but Domino defends the submission attempt. Abner is pressing down on Domino's thigh, looking to free his foot. Domino is holding on for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Domino takes the fight on points by 3 to 2. Johnny Domino bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it. |
