Gardener closes the distance and clinches.
Gardener has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Shart uses from the top position. Gardener wants to sweep but no luck. Gardener not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gardener wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Shart postures up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shart looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gardener is defending well. Shart quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gardener has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Shart celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
