Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ippo Takamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jovan Chase!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Takamura misses the target.
Chase throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Takamura sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Chase connects with a single shot there.
It looks like Ippo Takamura has been cut.
Chase throws a head kick but Takamura moves out of range.
Takamura fails to land with a series of punches.
Chase scores with a shot to the body.
Chase has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Chase throws a jab when Takamura was well out of range.
Takamura looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Takamura lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Nice body punch from Takamura.
A slow jab from Chase misses its intended target.
Chase looks to land a right hand but Takamura moved out of range.
Takamura connects with a looping right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takamura lands a jab to the head.
Nice shot by Chase.
Chase throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Takamura.
Chase slips under a jab.
Chase throws the left hand but Takamura avoids the punch easily.
No joy there for Chase, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Takamura swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Takamura just misses with a punch to the body.
Chase throws out a loose jab but Takamura uses good head movement to avoid it.
Takamura half committed to a counter leg kick.
Chase uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Takamura.
Chase scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Takamura to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
Takamura is rocked!
Takamura get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Takamura stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the ropes but Chase runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jovan Chase!
Jovan Chase spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
