Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Franco (ranked 2898 p4p, 3840 weight class) and Hector Herrera (ranked 282 p4p, 348 weight class). Max Franco had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hector Herrera!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Franco looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Herrera throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Franco went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Herrera dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Franco. That did some damage!
Herrera throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Franco counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Franco throws a hook to the side of Herrera's head but Herrera sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Herrera tries to counter by closing the distance.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Herrera!
Hector Herrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Herrera tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Franco manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Herrera lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Herrera.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed right hand from Herrera misses the target.
Franco looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Herrera!
Franco definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Franco creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Herrera sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Franco throws a strike aimed at the side of Herrera's head but Herrera avoids it well.
Herrera is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Franco is controlling him well.
Franco is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Herrera is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Franco in side control, throwing shots but Herrera defends.

Franco prevents Herrera from escaping the position.
Franco tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Franco has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Franco avoids the strikes from the bottom by Herrera.
Herrera is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Franco lands a nice forearm strike.
The strikes coming from Franco are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Franco wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Herrera, who protects the arm well.
Franco is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Herrera is trying to escape and Franco transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Herrera is forced to tap! Nice work there by Franco! Very nice indeed!
