Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Archibald Longstreet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armando Rush!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longstreet slips a jab and a cross from Rush.
A quick step to the side and Longstreet tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rush shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Longstreet counters with a two punch combo.
Longstreet looks to land a left hand but Rush moved out of range nicely.
Rush closes the distance but Longstreet moves to the side
and Longstreet counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Armando Rush has been cut.
Rush's coach down at War Hound MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rush's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Rush shoots in looking for a takedown. Longstreet tries to sprawl out of it but Rush keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Longstreet manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rush is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Longstreet counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Longstreet throws a body punch but Rush moves out of range.
Longstreet defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rush.
Archibald Longstreet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Armando Rush.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rush is defended easily by Longstreet.

Longstreet has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Armando Rush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rush shoots in and drives through. Longstreet sprawls well.

Rush throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Longstreet's waist but Longstreet gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rush off to one side.
Longstreet seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Rush looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Longstreet swats away the attempt to clinch by Rush.

Rush tries to close the distance and clinch but Longstreet swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Longstreet for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Longstreet fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rush manages to avoid it.
Longstreet avoids the head kick by Rush.

Rush tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Longstreet just stands there and leans against the cage.
Longstreet swings wildly with an uppercut but Rush uses good head movement to avoid it.

Longstreet creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Rush with a big uppercut! Rush tries to clinch up but Longstreet pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Rush to the mat! Rush covers up and Longstreet unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

In his post fight interview, Archibald Longstreet started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
