Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Madd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peters has chosen Sid Vicious - My Way as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Madd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roy Peters! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madd shoots in and drives through. Peters sprawls well. Peters misses the shot to the body. Madd shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Madd showed some decent athleticism there. Madd working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Peters's thigh. Peters counters though and makes it back to full guard. Madd throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Peters works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Peters wants to stand up but Madd is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Madd trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Peters utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peters wants to stand but Madd is controlling the position. Madd trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters managing to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A slow jab from Peters misses its intended target. Peters throws a hook to the side of Madd's head but Madd sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Madd drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Madd cracks Peters with a big right hand but Peters just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Peters regains half guard, as Madd was trying to land strikes. Peters is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peters won't allow Madd to pass to mount. Madd throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Madd thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Madd sitting and controlling from the half guard. Madd looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Peters trying to control but Madd postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Peters throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Madd is defended easily by Peters. Peters pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Peters throws a series of punches but Madd moves out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Madd. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Madd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peters thows a left - swing and a miss! Peters throws a hook to the side of Madd's head but Madd sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Madd shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peters pinned against the cage. Peters gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Peters throws a jab when Madd was well out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Peters sizes up Madd with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Madd shoots in for a takedown but Peters shows good takedown defense. Peters throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A big right from Peters misses. Peters misses with a low kick.
Peters scores with a shot to the body.
Peters throws a body punch but Madd moves out of range. Madd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Peters as he jumps to the side. A big right from Peters misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Roy Peters will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Madd tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Madd somewhat. Peters lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Madd is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peters sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Madd is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Peters moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Madd goes down! Can Peters finish him!?
Madd is rocked!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Madd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peters doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peters manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Peters has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Madd is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters trying to control the position from guard on top but Madd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Madd looking for a sweep. Not yet Madd, not yet. Madd working for submissions but it's allowed Peters to get to half guard.
Madd has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Peters is working away from the top position though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Peters blocks the strikes from Madd.
Madd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Peters lands a nice short elbow. Madd tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Peters controlling the pace. Peters stands up out of the half guard. Peters misses the jab. Peters misses with a looping left. Decent striking displayed by Peters there. Peters jabbing away but nothing is landing. Madd looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Peters is fending him off so far but Madd persists. Nope, Peters circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Madd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horrible takedown by Madd or perhaps it was just good defense by Peters which made him look bad. Peters lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Madd ducks under a wild hook from Peters. Madd blocks a jab. Peters digs a good body shot into Madd's ribs. Peters looks to land a combination but Madd avoids it well. Peters is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Madd.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peters takes a swing at Madd's ribcage but misses. Madd ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Madd drives through with a takedown into guard. Madd postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Peters is controlling Madd's posture. Madd throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Madd looking to sit in guard and control but Peters gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Madd trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Peters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Madd's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Peters throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Madd. Peters paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Roy Peters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peters closes the distance and lands a one-two. Peters misses with a hook. Madd ducked under it nicely. Peters thows a left - swing and a miss! Peters throws an overhand right that lands on Madd's shoulder, as Madd tries to avoid the shot. Madd looks for a takedown but Peters sprawls well. Peters misses with an uppercut. Madd saw that one coming. Peters misses with a straight left. Peters stuffs the takedown attempt from Madd. Madd gets slowly back to his feet. Madd gets the takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters dodges the ground and pound from Madd. Peters wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Peters dodges the ground and pound from Madd. Madd creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Peters sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Madd wants to control but Peters is keeping him busy. Peters is trying to improve his position. Madd in side control, throwing shots but Peters defends. Madd cracks Peters with an elbow. That is naaassty.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Madd is working Peters over with some ground and pound from side control. Peters is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Madd is controlling him well. Peters is trying to control Madd's posture but Madd avoids it. Madd thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Peters takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Peters is looking to reverse the position. Peters parries the strikes from Madd easily there. Madd is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Peters to escape.
Peters is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Madd working the ground and pound from side control. Madd landing a few strikes. Peters dodges the ground and pound from Madd. Madd throwing strikes but Peters manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Madd is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Madd wants to get back to full guard. Madd tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Madd is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Madd looking for submissions off his back. Madd punching from the bottom.
Madd is trying to control but can't.
Madd wants to improve his position but Peters is controlling well.
Luke Madd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roy Peters is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Madd uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Peters. Madd throws a right hand that Peters ducks under and follows up with a left that Peters also avoids with ease. Donk. Peters catches Madd right on the button with a cross.
And that's the end of the fight! Luke Madd showed his dominance in that final round. I think Peters has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
