Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vanderley Ferreira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Clark!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferreira has his takedown stuffed
and Clark counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ferreira wants to clinch up but Clark keeps it at a distance.
Ferreira takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Vanderley Ferreira has been cut.
Ferreira lands with a cross.
Clark gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ferreira to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Clark working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ferreira.
Our spies down at at Xanjutsu inform us that Clark has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Clark has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ferreira has passed into side control.
Clark is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Ferreira remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Ferreira misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Clark looking for a sweep but Ferreira has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Ferreira lands a big shot there that rocks Clark but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Clark wants to control but Ferreira is having none of it.
Clark gets back to half guard.
Ferreira seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Clark does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Clark is in trouble now - Ferreira has advanced to mount!

Clark tries to hold on but Ferreira pushes him away.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

BOOM! Ferreira connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Clark is rocked!
Ferreira lands a big elbow - Clark is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Clark is forced to tap out!

After the fight, Vanderley Ferreira was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
