Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shade Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cristofer Nunes!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cole throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nunes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cole is in Nunes's guard.

Cole has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cole controls from within his opponent's guard.

Nunes is looking to stand up but Cole isn't so interested in that idea.
Cole landing some decent shots from guard.
Nunes can't keep his opponent in guard - Cole advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cole is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cole is nestled in close to Nunes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Cole looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nunes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Cole slips a nice elbow through Nunes's hands, connecting with Nunes's forehead.
Cole is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Cole prevents Nunes from standing back up.
Cole looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Nunes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cole. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nunes has hold of Cole's hands but Cole slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Cole stalling.
Cole drops an elbow to the side of Nunes's head.
Cole performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Cole landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Cole stands up from half guard.
Cole fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nunes on the side of the head.
Nunes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cole moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cole gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Cole breaks the clinch.
Cole fails to land with a series of punches.

Nunes gets tackled into the cage by Cole. Cole maintains the clinch.
Cole stalling the fight.

Cole gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Nunes pushes Cole off but Cole dives into side control.
Nunes gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Cole breaks from Nunes's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Cole lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cole landing strikes from the mount and Nunes is in trouble!
Cole looking to finish Nunes with some ground and pound. This is bad for Nunes!
Cole has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nunes's face.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cole working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Nunes turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Cole off and cradles Nunes's limp body as Cole celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Shade Cole!
