Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between redheaded Step Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malvin Maldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Step Child might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ginger Sex. Maldi has chosen Loituma TECHNO! as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, redheaded Step Child! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Malvin Maldi! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maldi gets the takedown into side control. Step Child sneaks back into half guard. Step Child is trying to get back to full guard. Step Child gets full guard. Maldi wants to pass the guard but Step Child is keeping the position. Step Child throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Step Child escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maldi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Step Child has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maldi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Step Child is working an open guard so Maldi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Maldi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Step Child.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maldi scores with a hook to the body. Step Child takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Step Child slips a jab and a cross from Maldi.
Maldi connects with a good right hand that stumbles Step Child. Step Child circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Maldi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Maldi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Step Child walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Maldi thows a body shot but no joy. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Step Child fails with the takedown and Maldi counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Step Child with a poor takedown and Maldi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Step Child's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Step Child looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Maldi postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Maldi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Maldi connects with a couple of short punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maldi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maldi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Maldi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Step Child is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maldi trying to control the position from guard on top but Step Child is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Step Child throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Maldi works a leg free and moves into half guard. Maldi prevents Step Child from improving his position. Well, if Maldi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Step Child really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Step Child looking for submissions off his back. Maldi controlling the action here. Maldi is working for a submission of some sort.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Step Child is not content to let Maldi control the position. Maldi seems to be looking for submissions.
Step Child is pressing down on Maldi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Maldi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Step Child is keeping the position for now. Maldi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maldi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Malvin Maldi dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Step Child misses with a takedown and Maldi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Step Child's guard now. Maldi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Maldi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Maldi drops back looking for a leg! Step Child is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Step Child manages to kick Maldi off! Maldi jumps back into Step Child's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Step Child working for a triangle but Maldi defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maldi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Step Child is proving hard to escape from. Step Child keeping full guard, as Maldi tries to pass. Step Child is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Maldi trying to control but Step Child is working from the bottom. Step Child looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Maldi passes into half guard.
Maldi decides to return to a standing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Step Child with a lazy takedown attempt and Maldi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Maldi stalks Step Child and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Step Child's face. Step Child staggers backwards, shaken. Maldi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Step Child. Maldi scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Step Child is rocked! A big right from Maldi misses. Malvin Maldi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maldi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maldi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Oh Step Child is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Maldi is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Step Child is forced to tap! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Malvin Maldi! Malvin Maldi is the new bantamweight champion!
