Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsura Onigawa!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza clobbers Onigawa with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mendoza lands with a nice body punch.
Mendoza throws a body shot but no joy.
Onigawa steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Mendoza.
Mendoza moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Mendoza has been working on his boxing with his coaches at UnderDawg Fight Club in the buildup to the fight.
Onigawa shoots and misses
and Mendoza counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice takedown defense from Mendoza. No joy for Onigawa on that attempt.
Onigawa doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Mendoza lands a two punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mendoza misses with a kick to the body
and Onigawa counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mendoza won't be happy with that.
Onigawa passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Mendoza!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendoza has given up his back. Will we see Onigawa going for some submissions?
My spies in Cozad MMA Tokyo inform me that Onigawa has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
You can see the frustration on Mendoza's face� He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Onigawa working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Mendoza is doing well to defend. Onigawa seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Mendoza is forced to tap and this one is over!
