Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jonah Morah (ranked 3057 p4p, 5065 weight class) and George Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonah Morah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, George Smith!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morah scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morah creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Smith sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Smith is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Smith is not content to let Morah control the position.
Smith is looking for a sweep.
Smith manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Morah is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Punchin N\' Chockin that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Smith is trying to control the action in half guard but Morah is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Morah might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Morah doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.

Smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Smith works his way into full mount!

Smith looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Morah bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Morah.
Morah tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.
Morah throws a big right hand that misses.
Smith is pulling down on Morah's head. It's preventing any offense from Morah, at least for the moment.

Smith wants to sweep but no luck.
Smith trying to control the position here.
Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Smith seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Morah avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Morah missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Morah throwing strikes but missing.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Smith is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Morah pushes down on Smith's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Morah is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Morah lands strikes from half guard.
Morah is trying to control. Smith wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Morah is trying to work for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
Smith keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Morah thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Smith is pressing down on Morah's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smith is on top in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smith won't allow Morah to sweep him here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jonah Morah will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Morah misses the shot to the body.
Morah throws a right and a left that both miss.
George Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smith decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Smith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Smith is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morah is defending against the submission attempts here by Smith.

Smith is trying a forearm choke� I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Morah prevents Smith from taking his back.
Morah working to try and regain half guard.

Smith is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Morah to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Morah shrugs it off.

Smith wants to finish this one by submission but Morah is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Smith.

Smith is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Morah is surviving well by controlling Smith's body position as best he can.

Smith has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Morah is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). George Smith!
In his post fight interview, George Smith started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
