Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boom Boom (ranked 4099 p4p, 3784 weight class) and Dominic Marquez (ranked 369 p4p, 0 weight class). Boom Boom has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Boom Boom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Marquez!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marquez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Boom tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Marquez manages to circle out of the way.

Marquez looking to score a takedown here. Boom is defending well but Marquez drives through and ends up in Boom's guard.

Boom has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Marquez has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Boom stalls.

Boom lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Marquez manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Boom keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marquez tries to throw a body punch but Boom avoids it by throwing Marquez back against the cage.

Boom is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Marquez can't fight it off and eventually Boom manages to take the fight to the floor. Marquez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Boom throwing strikes from guard but Marquez blocks nicely.
Marquez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Boom's guard.

Boom can't keep his opponent in guard - Marquez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Marquez wants to free his trapped foot but Boom is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Boom avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Marquez.
Boom wants to control but Marquez is keeping busy.
Boom wants to improve his position but Marquez is controlling well.

Marquez sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Boom defending well though.
Well, if Marquez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Boom won't allow Marquez to pass to mount.

Marquez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Boom has managed to free his arm - good work.
Boom really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Marquez not doing much here.

Marquez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Marquez is looking for a kimura here.

Marquez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Boom sees it coming and defends easily.
Marquez is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Let's hope that Marquez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dominic Marquez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Marquez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Boom manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Marquez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boom works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Boom is trying to keep Marquez in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marquez pushes down on Boom's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Marquez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Marquez not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Marquez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boom's head.
Marquez controlling the pace.
Boom tries to get to full guard but Marquez has control of the leg.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Marquez is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boom slips under a jab from Marquez.
Boom appears to be looking for a big counter.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Boom enables Marquez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Boom manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Marquez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Marquez.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boom avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Marquez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boom is keeping the position for now.

Marquez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boom is proving hard to escape from.
Marquez pushes down on Boom's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Marquez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Boom is just riding it out for now. Marquez eventually gives up the hold.
Boom gets back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Marquez tries to free his leg and advance position but Boom is retaining full guard.

Marquez sitting in guard, not really doing much.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dominic Marquez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Marquez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marquez showed some decent athleticism there.
Marquez thows a huge punch but Boom dodges it nicely.
Marquez wants to pass to mount but Boom is defending the position.

Marquez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Boom is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Marquez performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Marquez stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Boom to get to his feet.
A head kick misses from Marquez.
Boom looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Marquez misses with a series of wild punches.
Boom tries to counter with a takedown but Marquez is quick to defend against it.

Marquez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boom paws at him with a jab and circles away.
An attempted straight right counter from Boom misses the target.
Marquez misses with the combination.
Boom throws a quick counter head kick but Marquez was just out of range.

Marquez dives in and scores a takedown into Boom's guard.
Marquez throwing strikes but missing.
Marquez trying to move into half guard but instead Boom has managed to sweep!

Marquez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Boom is controlling him.
Marquez is pulling down on Boom's head to control his posture.
Boom throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marquez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Boom trying to control but Marquez is working from the bottom.
Boom working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Marquez keeping moving, preventing Boom from controlling successfully.

Marquez seems keen to control Boom's posture.
Boom Boom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dominic Marquez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boom is looking to work some ground and pound but Marquez has wrist control.

Dominic Marquez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Marquez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
