Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marques Roy (ranked 1248 p4p, 898 weight class) and Max Wahlstroem (ranked 161 p4p, 117 weight class). Max Wahlstroem will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Max Wahlstroem!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roy shoots in and drives through. Wahlstroem sprawls well.
Wahlstroem tries to counter with a clinch but Roy shakes him off and moves away.
Wahlstroem throws a sloppy head kick and Roy moves out of range easily.
Roy shoots for a double leg takedown but Wahlstroem sprawls well. He's pushed Roy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Roy has been working on his balance at Ruttos gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Wahlstroem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wahlstroem throws an elbow that misses. Roy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wahlstroem's guard. Nice move by Roy!

Roy stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Wahlstroem has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Roy manages to get his head free but now Wahlstroem has transitioned to an armbar! Roy grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Wahlstroem! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
