Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Novikov (ranked 3440 p4p, 4092 weight class) and Marcu Ionut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Novikov has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ivan Novikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcu Ionut! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ionut gets a clinch. Novikov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ionut jumps guard and drags Novikov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Ionut is trying to control the position but Novikov postures up.
Novikov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ionut keeping moving, preventing Novikov from controlling successfully. Ionut tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Novikov postures up.
Ionut pulls Novikov in close to prevent any damage. Novikov trying to control but Ionut is working from the bottom.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Novikov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ionut pinned against the cage. Ionut gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ivan Novikov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Novikov tries to keep at a distance but Ionut has taken the fight into the clinch. Ionut using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Ionut manages to pull guard.
Ionut looking for a sweep. Not yet Ionut, not yet. Novikov wants to control from the top but Ionut keeps moving.
Novikov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ionut dives on top into guard.

Novikov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ionut doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ionut manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Ionut in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Novikov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Novikov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ionut can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Novikov looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ionut is defending well. Novikov quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ionut has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Novikov celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ivan Novikov! Ivan Novikov decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
