The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karhu has taken the fight to the clinch.
Karhu manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
DePriest not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as DePriest accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
DePriest gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Karhu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
DePriest avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Karhu.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Karhu connects with a nice short shot to DePriest's temple.
DePriest gets full guard.
DePriest is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
DePriest has momentary wrist control but Karhu slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
DePriest manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Karhu manages to get himself to full guard.
DePriest loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

DePriest stops Karhu from standing up.

DePriest in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
DePriest postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

DePriest has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

DePriest drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Karhu dives on top into guard.
Karhu is posturing up here but DePriest has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Karhu tries to roll out but it's too tight and Karhu has to tap! Slick submission there by DePriest!
