Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 23525 p4p, 23509 weight class) and Tapad Amiga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tapad Amiga has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dawindi Buktot's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 56 - 86 - 8, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 47 - 92 - 9, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Buktot slaps away a takedown attempt from Amiga, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Buktot closes this distance looking for a takedown but Amiga circles away.
Amiga follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

and Amiga counters with a nice body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Buktot closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Amiga is trying to get back to full guard.
Amiga is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Buktot content to control rather than advance.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Amiga throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Buktot quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Buktot leaves Amiga with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Buktot shoots in for a double leg but Amiga sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Amiga steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawindi Buktot. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Amiga drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Amiga slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Buktot is pulling down on Amiga's head. It's preventing any offense from Amiga, at least for the moment.
Amiga controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tapad Amiga will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Buktot shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Amiga as he jumps to the side.
A countering left hand to the body from Amiga misses.

Buktot dives in and scores a takedown into Amiga's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Amiga holds on and takes a little breather.
Buktot is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Amiga controlling the position.
Amiga's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amiga keeping moving, preventing Buktot from controlling successfully.
Buktot throws a big right hand that misses.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Buktot content to stall in guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Amiga stays in close to Buktot's body and controls the position.

More stalling from Amiga.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tapad Amiga has got the better of the ground game so far.
Amiga is continuing to stall.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tapad Amiga showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Amiga looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Amiga fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Buktot avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amiga tries to score a power double leg takedown but Buktot sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Amiga somewhat.
Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tapad Amiga.

Buktot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Amiga steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Amiga looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buktot is fending him off so far but Amiga persists. Nope, Buktot circles away and we're back to standing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nice takedown defense from Amiga. No joy for Buktot on that attempt.

Amiga gets caught flat footed, as Buktot shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Amiga pulls Buktot in to control the position.
Buktot not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Amiga seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Buktot content to stall in guard here.
Buktot postures up in Amiga's guard and throws a big left but Amiga blocks it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Amiga has his takedown stuffed
and Buktot counters with a body kick that stops Amiga in his tracks momentarily.
Dawindi Buktot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tapad Amiga is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Buktot feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

I think Amiga has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
