The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Souza keeps the fight on the outside.
de Souza shoots in looking for a takedown. Fowley tries to sprawl out of it but de Souza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fowley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fowley misses with a takedown attempt
and de Souza counters with a nice body kick.
Fowley looks to land a combination but de Souza avoids it well.
de Souza is looking to slow Fowley down with leg kicks.
de Souza clinches up against the cage.
de Souza successfully pulls guard.
Fowley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
