Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Riordon (ranked 2268 p4p, 3690 weight class) and Bomba Wiwi (ranked 252 p4p, 355 weight class). Bomba Wiwi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Riordon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bomba Wiwi!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riordon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wiwi pinned against the cage. Wiwi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A countering left hand to the body from Wiwi misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Riordon shoots in looking for a takedown. Wiwi tries to sprawl out of it but Riordon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wiwi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice combination there by Wiwi.
It looks like Tommy Riordon has been cut.

Wiwi has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Riordon is on him like a limpet, forcing Wiwi back against the cage.

Riordon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wiwi is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Wiwi wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Riordon has him pressed against the cage.

Wiwi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Riordon asserts his dominance and retains side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wiwi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wiwi parries the strikes from Riordon easily there. Riordon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Wiwi to escape.
Riordon lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Wiwi down.
Wiwi is trying to buck Riordon off.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Riordon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Wiwi was covering up waiting for the punch and Riordon finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wiwi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riordon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Riordon is nestled in close to Wiwi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Riordon connects with a nice short shot to Wiwi's temple.

Riordon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wiwi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Riordon is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Wiwi is hurt! He's hurt bad - Riordon fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Wiwi from any more punishment! Congratulations to Riordon! Great finish!
