Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronaldo Nazario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronny Hill!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nazario.
Nazario tries for a takedown but Hill sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hill swings away with a body shot that misses
and Nazario counters with a straight right hand.
Hill closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hill scores with a shot to the side of Nazario's head.
It looks like Ronaldo Nazario has been cut.
Hill prevents the takedown attempt.
Nazario takes a shot to the head.
Nazario tries to pull guard but Hill holds him up against the cage and eventually Nazario drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronaldo Nazario. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hill.
Still in the clinch, Hill scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hill gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Nazario wriggles free and stands up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed right hand from Hill misses the target.
Hill takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Hill lands a jab to Nazario's midsection.
Nazario is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hill cracks Nazario with an uppercut from hell and Nazario crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Hill's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Hill connects with a couple of short punches.
Nazario is rocked!
Hill must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hill lands a couple of digs.
Oh Nazario is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hill loads up on a big left hand. Nazario felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Hill looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Nazario can't hide his disappointment, as Hill celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ronny Hill!
